Ain't talkin bout love - Van Halen

Zoiks...Eddie's guitar is a bit out of tune here but that's Ok - so was Serge's most of the time when Ragnarok covered this classic :-)

I remember Muppet straining to hit the vocals most of the time!

Accept - Princess of the dawn

Another serious blast from the past :-)

Shit - I spent every Saturday night for like 2 years headbanging to this track when Ragnarok was the resident band at the Irish club ('87 - '89 if I remember correctly). Ahh the memories...

Hey, I just had an idea - I'm gonna try to track down and post copies of all the covers that Ragnarok did in their set - Kinda like an online night at the Irish club but without the stolen beer :-)

Accept - Balls to the wall

OK - so I haven't posted for a while.... sue me!

I was rocking to this on New Years eve and it reminded me what an awesome band Accept was. Sadly, they didn't make it as big as a lot of other bands from the same era in the 80's - but they did some killer albums.

This video is pretty lame, but turn the volume up! The song still kicks some seriouse ass!

Venom - In league with Satan

Still my favorite Venom track! It sounds a bit dated now but it's still great for freaking out non metal heads and scaring the crap out or religious freaks :-)

The classic line up of Chronos, Mantas and Abbadon. Brilliant!

Suicidal Tendancies - You Can't Bring Me Down

Still a brilliant attitude track that's great fun to sing along with when you're in a mood or somebody is giving you uphill.

Rocky George is one of the most under rated guitarists of all time - for some reason his name never comes up when talking about good guitarists in general let alone great trash guitarists, but take a real listen... he's better than a lot of guys who became acclaimed "axe gods"

The thing that should not let it be

OK - so there's no video but the audio is bloody awesome! You need to be a Metallica fan as well as a Beatles fan to really appreciate this and catch all the subtleties.

Although the song is a mash up/parody, you have to admit that these guys are really talented. Apart from managing to sound exactly like Metallica they are real musicians in their own right.

Mambo Kurt - Enter Sandman

I have no idea what it is about Mambo Kurt that makes him so cool!

Let's face it... he plays a crap instrument, he plays it badly, he dresses like a dweeeb, he's an ugly little shite but somehow it's frikken hilarious!

ROCK ON MAMBO KURT :-)

Slayer - Raining blood

"Reign in blood" was (and still is) the greatest thrash metal album of all time. Metallica's first 3 albums were great too, but they sold out. I don't care what anybody says... Load, ReLoad and everything up to an including St Anger just plain sucked!

I haven't been to partial to the latest couple of Slayer albums, but at least they stuck to their guns and didn't try to change their sound for mass commercial appeal!
